An Open Letter To A Friend Dealing With Change

There is something to be said about being in the moment. Quitting the job that is sucking the life out of you, moving away from the city you dislike, and leaving the nest to be on your own for the first time it’s exciting, exhilarating. New friends, a new life, the perfect place… When the dust settles and the adrenaline rush ends you may find that all this perfectness that you left behind isn’t what you thought it would turn out to be. Maybe you can’t find that job, your shower leaks, and that safety net is gone. The truth of reality comes out and the picture isn’t pretty, but you will be okay. Let me say it again you WILL be okay.

We are all tired. We are all scared. Denying the truth isn’t a cure and sooner or later we need to face it. Eventually we all figure out how to take care of ourselves. Until than find ways to enjoy the change. Take in your first breaths of freedom and realize that circumstances will change eventually. Your ideals will change and you will learn to take care of yourself. We all do. You were brave enough to take the first steps but now you just need to find the strength to take the next few.

Stop second guessing yourself. Go for it. Remember stumbling along the way is a part of life. Things maybe safe to from where you stand now, but do you really want to remain there forever?

Have you ever made a big change in your life or supported someone through a huge life change of your own?
